Description

Oozing refined sophistication, the Vega solid oak sideboard is richly coloured and full of natural character. A stunning live edge design to the front adds depth and dimension, with metal inserts echoing the black, cast iron legs. Each piece is unique, displaying natural colours, knots and splits.;Providing effortless organisation to keep tableware and accessories in order, the sideboard’s three hinged doors open to reveal two shelved cupboards – one large and one small. Whether dressed up with vases, bowls and candles or left bare, it is sure to become a frequent talking point.;Shop the full Vega range for a stunningly cohesive look.;Please note: Solid wood is a natural material that adapts to the world around it. Small hairline cracks are an organic characteristic of seared oak and should not be seen as a flaw. Occasionally, larger cracks are supported by butterfly joints, adding to the Vega’s unique appeal.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Vega solid oak sideboard for its clean, streamlined design and warm, natural finish, making it a versatile piece that works well in both modern and mid-century inspired interiors. Its horizontal lines and handy storage are perfect for living rooms, dining areas, or even bedrooms. A practical styling tip is to keep the top clear for everyday use, adding a few statement decorative pieces or a family photo for visual interest. Its sturdy build and neutral tone also mean it pairs beautifully with a variety of colour palettes and textures - think cosy soft furnishings or bold, contrasting accessories to make it stand out. Overall, it's a reliable, stylish choice that adds warmth and functionality without overpowering a space.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
