Design. Suited to a wide range of interior schemes, the Vega solid oak coffee table has a timeless look is sure to impress for years to come. Each piece is one of a kind due to unique colourings, markings and splits. The table top’s beautiful detail comes courtesy of waney, irregular edges and brass and wood butterfly joints. Balancing the robustness of the chunky solid wood, sharp splayed legs in cast iron maximise the space beneath, whilst their striking black finish provides a touch of industrial charm. Pair with the Vega entertainment unit for twice the style.

Our Stylist Says

The Vega solid oak coffee table is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and rustic interiors thanks to its warm brown tone and clean-lined design. I love how its solid oak construction offers durability while adding natural texture to a space. It’s perfect for layering with textured bowls, books, or plants to create a curated look without clutter. Practical styling tips include keeping accessories minimal and balanced, positioning it centrally for easy access, and pairing it with neutral-toned sofas for a classic aesthetic or contrasting with bold colours for a more eclectic vibe. Its understated elegance makes it adaptable for various living room styles, making it a real go-to piece for adding warmth and character.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
