Description

Available in two different sizes, the Vega solid oak bench works well with most dining tables - or alternatively brings relaxed style to hallways andelsewhere in the home that needs a little additional seating space. Mid-century influence gives the bench a minimalist silhouette, yet its design is anything but simple. Industrial flair comes courtesy of black cast iron legs, whilst the wooden seat features quirky live edges and one-of-a-kind characteristics. Layer up with cosy textures or let the raw, rustic look speak for itself. Occasionally, larger cracks are supported by butterfly joints, adding to the Vegas unique appeal.

Our Stylist Says

The Vega bench is a great piece for those looking to add functional style to a variety of spaces. I love its sleek, minimalist design combined with the warm brown tone, making it versatile for both modern and rustic interiors. It works particularly well in entryways as a practical seat or a chic statement piece at the foot of a bed. For styling, consider pairing it with textured cushions or placing it under a large mirror to create a cosy yet streamlined look. Its sturdy yet slim profile makes it adaptable, so don’t hesitate to use it in dining areas, hallways, or even as extra seating in a living room. Overall, it’s a smart, timeless addition that balances practicality with aesthetic appeal.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
