This Variations rug is an original design by British abstract artist and Royal Academician, Sir Terry Frost, which has been beautifully transformed into a hand-knotted rug by Christopher Farr. The Variations rug showcases Sir Terry Frost's signature collage-inspired style; a step away from his usually colourful and exuberant paintings, the formations of stark black segments contrast to the base of white fibres to form a monochrome rug that is simultaneously contemporary and classic. One of Britain's most acclaimed artists, Frost only started painting whilst being held as a prisoner of war in Germany in 1943 and went on to become one of the leading figures at the St Ives School, eventually being knighted in 2000.Since 1988, Christopher Farr has been at the forefront of contemporary rug design. Utilising only the finest yarn and dyes and collaborating with the most talented weavers from across the world, the creation of a Christopher Farr piece is a painstaking process that results in rugs that are nothing less than works of art. Hand-knotted in India from hand-spun Anatolian wool and irresistibly fluffy mohair, the Variations rug arrives beautifully packaged, displaying its unique edition number on the reverse. With just 150 available, this limited edition Christopher Farr rug offers a unique opportunity to invest in a stunning collision between art and textiles.
