Description
For Belgian artist Marie Michielssen, designing furniture always begins with a series of sketches on Paper. With mathematical precision, she constructs the volumes. The proportions must be perfect and adapted to the human body. For the Valérie lounge armchair, she started with an elliptical base, to which she added two rectangular surfaces, a seat and a backrest at a perfectly angled angle for comfortable sitting. For the material, Marie Michielssen chose Lacquered steel, so that the Valérie Armchair can be used both indoors and outdoors. She also likes steel because it's an honest material, a little raw and industrial.
