A magical and almost surreal work of a tree with watches for leaves, by artist Ulyana Hammond. Made with a wood-effect frame and mount, this canvas print comes ready to hang on your wall and is a smaller version of her contemporary classic. Ulyana Hammond was born in 1981 in St Petersburg, one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, known for its outstanding architecture. These wonderful surroundings were a great source of inspiration to her as she grew up to appreciate the historical riches around her. While studying traditional art and sculpture at university, Ulyana spent many hours sketching and perfecting her art, discovering this rewarding outlet for her passion of painting contrasting shape and colours. Returning to St Peterburg to see family, the trip brought all her childhood memories flooding back. This beautiful city continues to influence her work. Have you thought about hooks and fittings?
I love how Ulyana Hammond’s ‘Watch Tree’ works well in a variety of interiors-its modern, playful design makes it a great feature piece in contemporary settings, but it can also add a touch of intrigue to more traditional spaces. The muted colour palette with subtle pops of colour allows it to be versatile, pairing nicely with neutral schemes or adding visual interest in a more colourful room. For styling, I’d suggest placing it in a living room or hallway at eye level, perhaps above a sleek sideboard or console table, to let it really stand out. Pairing it with minimal accessories ensures the artwork remains the focal point, while simple frames or surrounding artworks can create a curated gallery effect. Its balanced size makes it a flexible choice for wall spaces without overwhelming the room.
