A meeting of two leading British fashion and design minds! Paul Smith, one of the greatest creators in British fashion, has dressed the Type 75 floor lamp – an icon of British industrial design – in a range of brand-new colours. The brilliant British couturier has drawn closely on his own very personal designer style, tastefully combining colours as if creating a new ready-to-wear range, giving the lamp a really hip “couture” look. Paul Smith’s great sense of humour and mischievousness can be seen in this project, combined with his love of tradition and the classics. These very colourful versions are characteristic of both Paul and his creations, a very British style, always with a little unexpected detail. Elegant and just a little quirky: edition no.6 is here! Its white finish enhanced with black details (screws and springs) emphasises the purity of Sir Kenneth Grange's Type 75 design. But, Paul Smith likes to surprise: the monochromatic matt white finish is given a twist by a thin band with graduated pastel stripes. A nod to the iconic colourful stripes of the famous couturier. Copied many times over, the timeless Anglepoise lamp is a true icon of British design. The original model was designed in 1933 by automotive engineer George Carwardine. Perfectly adapted to meticulous studio work, the Anglepoise lamp was originally adopted by industrialists for its practicality. This architect’s lamp with its typical 30s design celebrates the industrial, avant-garde loft living spirit. Equipped with a patented spring balancing system, it offers perfect stability in all positions. This floor lamp lets you direct the light precisely. The upper arms are articulated and rotate through 360°. The lampshade swivels. The switch is located on top of the lampshade. All Anglepoise lamps are guaranteed for life: it’s a guarantee of durability, strength and high quality. Anglepoise promises to repair or, if that’s not possible, replace your lamp while recycling your old one.
