Description

With retro flair and a sturdy design, the Twyford leather bar stool is a stunning investment for any home bar. Its black metal frame keeps things contemporary, with a handy footrest providing added stability. Padded with quality foam for lasting comfort, the bar stool’s seat and back are dressed in supple leather upholstery, available in your choice of more than 30 finishes. The stool’s armless design allows it to be tidily tucked away beneath benches and tables, making it a suitable space-saving seating option.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this leather bar stool for its sleek, minimalist look that works brilliantly in contemporary or industrial interiors. The combination of leather and metal adds a touch of sophistication while remaining practical. It’s ideal for home bars or kitchen islands where durability and easy cleaning are priorities. For styling, consider pairing it with other leather or metal accents, and add comfort with a cosy, textured cushion if needed. Keep the colour palette neutral or monochromatic to maintain a modern vibe, or mix with warmer tones for a more inviting feel. Its simple silhouette makes it versatile, so it can easily adapt to both casual and more refined spaces.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
