Considered one of the great icons of design, Eero Saarinen's multi award-winning Tulip Side Chair is characterised by its instantly recognisable cup-shaped frame, emphasised by the reduction of support to a single stem, and its distinctive black swivel base and rust-hued velvet upholstery. Designed in 1957 as part of the famous Pedestal collection that vowed to address the 'ugly, confusing, unrestful world' underneath tables and tables, the Tulip Side Chair consists of a sweeping swivel base of die-cast aluminium, lacquered in black and coated with a protective Rilsan finish. Crafted from moulded fiberglass, the distinctively shaped seat shell is accented with a removable foam seat pad, upholstered in tactile Eva velvet upholstery in a statement rust hue. A truly iconic design by Eero Saarinen, the Tulip Side Chair is an unmistakable piece that is sure to accent any space with modernity and style.
