Tulip & Willow was Morris second fabric to be printed originally by Bannister Hall in 1873 and then at Merton Abbey and is still available today. Here the design has been simplified and adapted for wallpaper by the removal of the tulips but the provenance remains. This is an easy to use all-over leaf pattern with delicate shading and tone. Shown here in a neutral colourway. Use the Tulip & Willow wallpaper for a feature wall in a bedroom and hallway or perhaps to cover an entire living room or dining room. This wallpaper is part of the Morris Volume II wallpapers collection. Application Method: paste the wall and then apply wallpaper. Pattern match:Straight. Vertical repeat: 30.5cm.
I love how the tulip and willow design introduces a subtle, nature-inspired pattern that works well in a variety of interiors. Its neutral tones make it versatile, perfect for creating a calming backdrop in living rooms or bedrooms, especially when paired with natural materials like wood or linen. Practical styling tips include balancing it with bolder accent pieces or textured fabrics to add interest, and considering a coat of clear protection to preserve the pattern in high-traffic areas. Overall, it’s an understated choice that can anchor a sophisticated, yet relaxed aesthetic.
