I’m a fan of this dove-velvet wingback chair because its soft boucle-style upholstery and pale neutral tone bring warmth and texture without overwhelming a scheme. It works equally well in a Scandi-inspired living room, a pared-back minimalist study or a cosy reading corner in a transitional space. For styling, layer a mid-grey or muted ochre linen cushion for contrast, and tuck it next to a slim black-metal side table topped with a ceramic lamp. Sit it on a low-pile jute or wool rug to define the spot, and flank it with a tall plant or a sculptural floor lamp to balance the height of the wings.
