Description
Painter and designer, the Belgian artist Maria Scarpulla creates minimalist objects that resemble pictorial works. There is a powerful interaction between shapes and colours in her generally abstract works, executed with a broad brush, through an expression that’s both constructed and spontaneous. Her collection of Tramonto wall lights comes from a series of paintings. The artist began by painting these colourful geometric shapes which later turned into wall lights. Even after adding the technical items required for a lamp, the Tramonto wall lights faithfully reproduce the original pictorial work, with the addition of a soft halo of light added to it. The Italian name Tramonto means sunset. Indeed, the halo that surrounds the lamp recalls the brilliant horizon after a sunset. When designing an object, Maria questions its obvious function, consciously seeking a way to transcend its basic utility. As such, a wall light becomes a multifunctional object, serving to illuminate, create an atmosphere, or simply for decoration. In Maria's interpretation, the object becomes as changeable as its many functions. This collection consists of 6 wall lights, in different shapes and colours, that can be easily combined to create a beautiful composition. Equipped with an integrated LED, the minimalist, expressive lamps from the Tramonto collection are made of steel. You can adjust the intensity of the LED using the dimmer on the cable.
