Description
A contemporary update on the classic, scroll-arm sofa, the Townsend saffron fabric 2 seater sofa has a T-cushion seat and a welcoming, open shape. Taller legs at the front and a reclined, padded back encourage relaxation, while the generously proportioned, feather-topped seat cushions make the elegant sofa incredibly comfortable. Handmade to order in Italy, Townsend is available in a variety of shapes and sizes and a wide choice of fabrics and colours.
Our Stylist Says
I love the Townsend Saffron Yellow sofa for its bold colour and clean-lined silhouette, which instantly adds a fresh and cheerful vibe to any living space. It works well in contemporary interiors where a pop of colour can create visual interest, but it also pairs nicely with patterned cushions or textured throws for a more eclectic look. To style it effectively, keep surrounding furniture and accessories in neutral tones or muted shades to let the sofa be the focal point. Practical tips include using a slipcover or removable cushions for easy maintenance and adding a complementary rug or artwork to tie the room together. Overall, this piece is a versatile choice for injecting colour and personality into your home.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
