Made in the UK Fusing a Scandinavian-inspired design aesthetic with a modern and natural construction, the Skipper ceiling light from Tom Raffield offers a home lighting solution with statement appeal. With a smart, nickel ceiling rose, this semi-flush fitting is ideal for smaller rooms or low ceilings and it's made from sustainably-sourced oak or walnut wood. Formed into Raffield's signature steam-bent, curved design, light glows from the centre and spills through the gaps in each of the ribbons, casting an eye-catching wash of light on the ceiling and around your room with warm shadows. This light has been individually handcrafted by a skilled workshop team. It has a subtle water-based satin varnish coating which provides an easy-care and durable finish without compromising on the natural beauty of the wood grain.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
