Description

Introducing Unbeaten, made by skilled artisans in the same factory in India as Tom Dixon's much-loved Beat lighting collection, with the difference being Unbeaten is made using machine tools and not hand-beaten, using premium aluminium for durability and a luxe look. The Beat lights marked one of the brand's earliest successes, featuring hand-hammered brass and an unexpected blend of craft detailing. Fast forward 20 years, and despite their enduring popularity, they have become one of the most widely imitated products. Determined to combat these imitations, Tom Dixon takes lighting in a different direction with Unbeaten. The Unbeaten Floor Lamp showcases the collection's sleek and refined design made of hand-spun and hand-brushed aluminium.

Our Stylist Says

I love this floor lamp for its sleek, modern silhouette and versatile aluminium finish, which effortlessly complements contemporary and industrial-style interiors. It’s a great choice for living rooms or reading corners where you want a statement piece that also provides practical task lighting. The design’s clean lines and adjustable head make it easy to direct light exactly where it’s needed, and its minimalist aesthetic helps it blend seamlessly into a variety of colour schemes and decor styles. Styling tips include pairing it with minimalist furniture, layering with other metallic accents, or letting it stand out as a sculptural element in a neutral space. It’s practical, stylish, and perfect for adding a touch of London-edge to your interiors.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
