Description

Celebrating the natural beauty of timber and leather, the Slab Lounge features generous proportions, solid materiality, and is softened with a gentle radius edge. The base surface is deeply brushed to reveal a unique natural grain, highlighting the exquisite craftsmanship and inherent beauty of the wood. It is then upholstered in top-tier leather, selected for its durability and unique texture. Ideal for both domestic and commercial environments. Oval seat pad upholstered in premium vegetable-tanned leather. FSC-certified solid oak or ash timber base, sourced from managed forests in the same country of manufacture. Available in over 3 color combinations. 3-year warranty for peace of mind. Designed in London, made in Europe.

Our Stylist Says

I always reach for the Slab chair when I need a statement piece that doesn’t overwhelm a space. Its clean lines and black leather seat sit comfortably in modern, industrial or mid-century interiors, especially against pale walls or alongside warm timber accents. To style it, try pairing with a low coffee table in brushed metal and a textured throw draped casually over one arm - this balances the chair’s graphic form while keeping the overall look relaxed and inviting.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
