Description

Screw Side Table is a simple, honest design, inspired by materials and processes of the industrial revolution. Its rotating top on a threaded steel pole allows for adjustable height, while being sturdy, durable, elegant and ideally suited for use both inside and outside. The 600mm round stone top made of colourful marble mined from the Shandong and Fujian provinces of China. The pattern of the natural marble is due to the crustal movement changes in the process of lava extrusion, developed over millions of years.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of Tom Dixon’s Screw side table in pebble marble - its raw cast-iron base and adjustable threaded stem give it an industrial-meets-modern edge that feels effortlessly cool. The grey, fossil-speckled marble top brings warmth and a hint of natural texture, so it slots straight into minimalist, Scandi or urban loft interiors. To style it, keep accessories simple: a small ceramic vase or a sculptural candle holder emphasises the stone’s pattern without cluttering the surface. Its 600 mm diameter is ideal beside a low sofa or as a bedside table; just tweak the height with a few turns to suit your setting.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
