Re-designed in 2018 for maximum comfort and visual impact, Scoop was originally developed for the Royal Academy of Arts Restaurant in London. This dining chair is upholstered in Wool and available in a variety of colours and leg options. Engineered from new foam moulded curves, Scoop dining chair hugs the contours of the body.

Our Stylist Says

The scoop chair in natural legs and denim is a versatile piece that works well in both modern and contemporary interiors. I love its clean, understated silhouette combined with the soft, textured denim upholstery, making it a plush yet practical seating option. It’s ideal for creating cosy corners in living spaces or adding a touch of relaxed sophistication to a bedroom or home office. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral or muted colour palettes to emphasise the fabric texture, or adding accent cushions for a personalised touch. Its compact size allows it to fit comfortably into smaller rooms or as an additional seating option without overwhelming the space.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
