Description

Re-designed in 2018 for maximum comfort and visual impact, Scoop was originally developed for the Royal Academy of Art Restaurant in London. This low back dining chair is upholstered using Bute's beige woolen fabric and finished with Brass legs. Engineered from new foam moulded curves, Scoop dining chair hugs the contours of the body.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Scoop Low Back armchair for its sleek, modern silhouette, which works effortlessly across a variety of interiors from contemporary to mid-century inspired spaces. Its micro boucle fabric adds subtle texture without overwhelming the design, making it versatile for both cosy reading corners and more formal lounge areas. The black oak legs provide a grounding contrast, giving the piece a stylish edge. Practical styling tips include pairing it with understated accessories like textured cushions or minimalist side tables, and placing it in well-lit areas to highlight its elegant curves. It’s a smart, timeless addition that balances comfort with sophistication.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
