Description

Born in Tom's 80's London workshop, the S Chair has been re-engineered. The original three-dimensional form is now moulded in an industrial hard/soft form with a pure wool cover. The instantly recognisable serpentine curves are now more comfortable and ergonomically active than ever. It sits proudly on its steering-wheel inspired cast iron base.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sleek, modern silhouette that blends both comfort and style effortlessly. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, thanks to its sculptural form and understated elegance. The Hallingdal 65 fabric adds warmth and texture, making it suitable for both casual dining areas and more refined settings. For styling tips, pair it with a simple glass or wooden table to highlight its sculptural qualities, and consider mixing it with other modern pieces for an eclectic look. Its durable upholstery makes it practical for everyday use, while its unique design acts as a statement piece in any dining space.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
