Description

Opal Pendant System is a chandelier featuring five small Opal ceiling lights and a white round canopy. Each light is made using a high tech manufacturing technique in German, and we have designed our own recipe of opalescent polycarbonate, resulting in satisfyingly ethereal orb. Coupled with our new Tom Dixon LED, the five shatter proof Opal pendants emit a soft, diffused and flattering light.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little pendant system for its clean, modern aesthetic and versatility. The mini spheres add a sculptural element to contemporary interiors, making it ideal for minimalist kitchens, dining areas, or even stylish home offices. Its compact form means it can be layered over a dining table or clustered in a smaller space to create focused ambient lighting. When styling, consider pairing it with sleek, understated furniture to let the lamp act as a statement piece, or combine several for a striking overhead centrepiece in more open, neutral rooms. Its versatile and functional design ensures it works well in both residential and commercial settings, especially where a contemporary, polished look is desired.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
