Description

A contemporary statement chandelier featuring two MELT and three MELT mini ceiling lights in a new tinted white opalescent finish. By retaining Melt’s organic form and iconic silhouette, we have created an opal version that enhances its luminosity. The shades emit an ethereal glow in daylight and form mesmerizing illuminated orbs at night. Perfectly complementing any interior with its opalescent shade, reminiscent of natural pearls. Made in Germany. Blow-moulded shade. Energy-Efficient LED Lighting. A 2700k LED ring offering a warmer softer glow can be purchased separately.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Melt Pendant System Large Round Opal/Gold LED for its contemporary yet versatile design - perfect for adding a sculptural focal point in a variety of interiors. Its clear, orb-like forms bring a soft, diffuse glow that complements minimalist, modern, or even luxe schemes. It works especially well in open-plan spaces like dining areas or high-ceilinged living rooms, where its size and sculptural quality can be appreciated fully. For styling, consider pairing it with understated, neutral furnishings to let the pendant stand out, and avoid cluttering the space around it. To enhance its impact, hang it at a height where the globes can be viewed in their entirety, and consider grouping it with other light fixtures for a striking effect.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
