A swarm, huddle, herd, cluster or bunch; there are a thousand ways of configuring our lamps to produce an extraordinary lighting arrangement. The latest additions to the Melt family include the Melt Small Chandelier featuring four orbs protruding from steel tubes and measuring one metre high. Fitted with our new LED module, our Melt Chandeliers are our attempt to rethink the contemporary chandelier.

This design is a fantastic example of contemporary lighting that adds a sculptural element to any space. The Melt LED chandelier works particularly well in modern and minimalist interiors, providing a statement piece without overwhelming the room. I love pairing it with neutral colour palettes to let its unique, molten-like glass orbs stand out, or placing it in a dining area or living room where its decorative appeal can be appreciated. Practical styling tips include keeping surrounding decor understated to highlight its form, and positioning it at a height that allows viewers to admire its intricate details. It’s especially effective when hung alone in a spacious setting, or layered with other lighting to create a dynamic, layered ambiance.

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.
By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.
