Description

A family of super-polished solid brass tables manufactured in the UK and made from one single extruded box section of brass. By using the most familiar unit in furniture construction – the plank – and presenting a series of familiar objects in a highly polished gold hued metal, Dixon manages to make domestic archetypes into monumental heavyweight sculpture. The rectangular tube is used in a multitude of configurations and will eventually be presented as a made to measure construction set, with a series of predetermined junctions that allow architects and interior designers the liberty to construct their own Mass artefact.

Our Stylist Says

I love the chunky, sculptural feel of this table - it makes a real statement while remaining versatile. Its bold, modern silhouette works well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, especially when paired with sleek chairs or contrasting textures like soft textiles or plush upholstery. Practical tips include keeping the surface clear to highlight the table’s striking finish, and layering with simple tableware to let the piece stand out. It’s also worth considering its size in relation to your space; this piece shines as a centrepiece in open-plan dining rooms or larger kitchens where it can be appreciated without feeling overwhelmed.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
