Description

The Knotty Rug is inspired by Tom Dixon’s love for stacking blocks of shapes, which is reflected in its bold yet subtle design. Handcrafted from irregularly spun bleached jute yarn, the rug features a range of weave patterns that create a rich, tactile surface. The interplay of these patterns adds depth and texture, bringing an organic and earthy feel to any space. Available in two sizes (170x240 cm and 200x300 cm), its natural tones effortlessly connect with nature, adding warmth and character to a space. Designed by the in-house Tom Dixon London Studio. Handmade by skill artisans in Northern India. Available in two sizes. Comes with a 1-year warranty for peace of mind.

Our Stylist Says

This rug is a fantastic choice for adding texture and subtle visual interest to a variety of interiors. I love its neutral white tone, which makes it versatile enough to work in both contemporary and minimalist spaces, as well as in more eclectic or layered schemes. It's especially effective layered under a coffee table or dining table to soften hard flooring and create a welcoming feel. Practical styling tips include pairing it with natural fibres, like wicker or wood, and using understated accessories to keep the focus on its crafted texture. Its generous size (170 x 240cm) makes it ideal for open-plan living areas or larger bedrooms, giving the space a cohesive, stylish anchor.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
