Our Stylist Says

I love this stool for its sleek, minimalist design and versatile appeal. The Fat Stool 75 works particularly well in contemporary or eclectic interiors, adding a touch of modern sophistication without overpowering the space. Its micro boucle fabric introduces a subtle texture that elevates the overall look, making it suitable for kitchens, home bars, or even boutique-style cafés. For styling tips, consider pairing it with matte black or natural wood finishes for an understated modern vibe. It also works well grouped around a high table or counter, and adding a couple of contrasting colours or textures can help create visual interest in an otherwise neutral setting.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
