I’m a fan of the “Fat” lounge chair for its sculptural form and warm ash frame - its curved backrest instantly softens a room. The grey Kvadrat melange fabric is hard-wearing yet refined, so it suits minimalist Scandi spaces as well as more eclectic, layered interiors. Position it beside a low-profile side table in brass or marble to play with contrasting materials, and add a slim lumbar cushion in a richer hue - deep ochre or forest green works well - to lift the muted grey. It also holds its own in a corner reading nook: pair with a simple floor lamp and a chunky knit throw to balance its clean lines and bring in a hint of textural warmth.

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.
