Description

Designed to hug the body and allowing for multiple sitting positions, this dining chair is upholstered using Designers Guild's green velvet. Fat is made from moulded foam with a metal leg launching in high gloss black lacquer and made to order upholstery. Manufactured in Europe, hand finished and upholstered by experienced craftsmen.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its sculptural silhouette and bold use of colour, making it a standout piece in any dining setting. The chunky, upholstered form adds a touch of comfort, while the black legs provide a sleek contrast that grounds the design. It works particularly well in contemporary or modern interiors where its playful yet sophisticated shape can be highlighted. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a neutral dining table to really let the chair's character shine, or using it to add a pop of colour to a more subdued space. Its versatility means it can also work in eclectic, mid-century modern, or even industrial interiors, especially when complemented with minimalist or statement accessories.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
