Description

Intended to create an extravagantly proportioned spotlight that could warm the greenish hue of early LEDs and create a more appealing luminosity, Copper shade is an over-sized, blow moulded and perfectly reflective globe that kick started the recent craze for copper in interiors the world over.

Our Stylist Says

I think this copper pendant is a real statement piece that works especially well in modern and industrial interiors. Its sleek, rounded shape adds a touch of sophistication, while the warm copper tone introduces a sense of richness. It’s perfect for creating a focal point over dining tables, kitchen islands, or even in a high-ceilinged living space. When styling, consider pairing it with other metallic accents for a cohesive look, or keep it simple to let the pendant shine. Practical tip: since it’s a bold design, ensure the surrounding decor is relatively understated to avoid visual clutter and allow this piece to truly stand out.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
