A design icon, the Tolomeo lamp was created by Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina in 1987. It is a flagship item of the Artemide catalogue. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Artemide has offered us this spectacular Tolomeo Maxi, a new XXL version of the famous Tolomeo. This surreal, oversized architect lamp of gigantic dimensions (max. Height 406 cm) will cause a sensation. The giant floor lamp has an articulated arm and an elegant lampshade covered with satin fabric. It can be swivelled in all directions, casting a direct and indirect light. Each part has been meticulously crafted, including its aluminium ball-and-socket joints and structure. Tolomeo is balanced by a spring system, which makes the arm particularly stable in any position. Of a very architectural design, you will find the Tolomeo Maxi floor lamp useful anywhere where lighting is required from above, for example above the middle of a dining table, in a living room or in an office. What designer Michele De Lucchi says about the Tolomeo lamp: “The Tolomeo has been designed to go anywhere, to fit in anywhere, to work anywhere. Now that it’s celebrating its 30th anniversary, we know that it will never grow old, and that it will go anywhere, fit in anywhere and work anywhere even in the distant future, always!”.
