Designed by renowned industrial designer Miguel Milá and re-released in 2011 by Santa and Cole to mark the iconic design's 50th anniversary the floor and table lamp which make up the TMD Lighting Collection showcase height-adjustable shades. Each TMD Lamp has been revised by Santa and Cole to present the 'latest, definitive' edition of the pieces, reviving a number of intricate details that were overseen during its initial life. The adjustable shades have been reconfigured to offer smooth movement, adjusted using a well-positioned magnet, while the nickel circular base and stem showcase a satin finish and the white linen shade lends the perfect complementary element to the overall design. Miguel Milá was a pioneer of his generation; born in the 1950s, a time when Spain's industry was in crisis, meant Milá grew up in a generation where handmade things were not only the norm, but necessity. This drove Milá to design and create lamps and furniture that remains renowned to this day, and his work is now known as the epitome of Catalan design.
