The Tinkering pendant by Dutch designer Joost van Bleijswijk is of a structural complexity that gives rise to an extraordinary visual effect. This rhythmic construction of metal rods with their many offshoots calls to mind both the plant world and mechanical engineering. A refined, luxurious and industrial hybrid style. The light sources are attached to this black steel skeleton, each enclosed under an arched lampshade that reminds us of the shape of a security camera. The inside of the lampshade is made of brass: the precious appearance of the golden brass contrasts beautifully with the industrial aesthetic of the black structure. The LED light sources are enclosed in transparent streaked polycarbonate diffusers. The steel wires are used as a conductor (very low voltage electric current) to supply the LED light sources. This Electrosandwich technology patented by Moooi eliminates the need for unsightly electrical cables and maintains a clean aesthetic. The Tinkering pendant was created after long research aimed at capturing and reflecting light in unusual ways. Joost van Bleijswijk spent hours composing this rhythmic installation, and it was in his studio that this symbol of sophisticated craftsmanship and creative luxury was born. An unparalleled attention-grabber with its sprawling branches and large dimensions, the Tinkering pendant is perfect over a dining table, bar or counter. The Tinkering pendant is suspended from the ceiling by two black cables. The rectangular ceiling rose is made of black metal.
