Description

Design. Dressed in sumptuous velvet with a stunning colour palette, the Shabby sofa is seen reinvented in the Faded and Degraded finish of Melting Paisley. Featuring a swirl of pinks, oranges, blues and more, it is sure to become a stunning centrepiece in any living area. Decidedly modern, it looks great in loft apartments, grand lounges and industrial spaces. With comfort as striking as its appearance, the sofa is filled with foam and fibre for optimum support, whilst the deep seats and reclined shape entice you in for a restful stay. Ribbed stitching keeps with the Shabby's signature style, making this 1 seater sectional just as special as its predecessor.

Our Stylist Says

The shabby sectional one seater has a very distinctive, distressed aesthetic that works particularly well in eclectic, boho, or industrial interiors where a sense of history and personality is prized. The faded, peeling ceiling detail adds a raw, unfinished charm that can be used as a statement piece or a foundation for layered styling. To make this work in your space, pair it with contrasting smooth textures, such as velvet cushions or sleek metals, to create balance. Keep accessories minimal but deliberate, perhaps with vintage finds or artisanal objects, to complement its character. This piece really benefits from a curated, lived-in feel - it’s not about perfection but about creating a space that feels authentic and a little rebellious.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
