Description

Design. With a relaxed and slouchy form that encourages lounging, the Shabby 2 seater sofa is all about kicking back in style. Fully upholstered in beautiful brown leather, it features defined ribs sewn into the seats that provide a stunning look as well as a plump shape. Putting comfort first, the sofa benefits from foam and fibre interiors, deep seats and generous backrests, so that lazy days and long nights are as luxurious as can be. Whether building a sectional sofa, a corner configuration or just letting this piece speak for itself, the Shabby 2 seater sofa will not let you down.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sofa for its relaxed, vintage-inspired aesthetic and its versatile appeal. It works particularly well in eclectic or industrial interiors, where its distressed leather and simple lines add character and warmth. Practical styling tips include pairing it with textured cushions or throws in neutral or muted tones to soften the look, and placing it alongside weathered wooden or metal accents for a cohesive feel. Its cosy, inviting shape makes it ideal for smaller living spaces or corner arrangements, providing comfort without overwhelming the room. Overall, it's a statement piece that effortlessly combines style and function with a touch of retro charm.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
