Description
Design. The stoic Ridge bookcase is a more contemporary twist on a vintage material, handcrafted from Genuine English Reclaimed Timber, up to 100 years old and collected from disused buildings in the UK. The salvaged timber is denailed by hand and repurposed for its next chapter, rich with the inimitable patina from its past life. With strong sturdy edging echoing a mountain ridge, the Ridge’s clean lines and naturally weathered texture bring an instinctive sense of warmth and character to a room. Wide hinged sides reveal concealed shelves to store secret treasures.

I’m a big fan of the Ridge bookcase for its substantial timber frame and raw-edge finish - it brings warmth and texture without feeling fussy. Its generous depths suit both chunky reference tomes and decorative objects, so it’s equally at home in a rustic farmhouse lounge, an industrial-style home office or a pared-back Scandi setting.
For styling, organise books by size and colour, then break things up with simple ceramics, framed prints or a couple of trailing plants. Leave at least one shelf partly empty to let the wood really sing, and consider woven baskets on the lower tier to hide odds and ends while adding another natural layer.
