Whether your chosen décor be a cool urban setting or making the most of edgy industrial vibes, this Mimi chair works effortlessly in both, crafted from high quality leather, plump foam and fibre cushion for the perfect balance of comfort and style. Beautifully accented by the Mimi’s trademark slightly arched back and elegant sculpted legs, this chair has a timeless look that will inspire your dining space for years to come.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this chair for its timeless appeal and versatility. The black leather gives it a sophisticated edge, making it a great choice for both modern and traditional interiors. It works particularly well in spaces that mix classic with contemporary elements, such as a rustic dining room paired with sleek accessories or a minimalist scheme with statement pieces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a wooden or metal table to highlight its contrasting materials or adding tactile textiles like a woven placemat or cushion to soften the look. Its sturdy build makes it not only stylish but also functional for everyday use.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
