This bar stool version of our perennially classic Mimi dining chair lends itself to both modern and classic interiors. A generously padded seat ensures hours of comfort, with hand-studded detailing along the back and shapely legs in weathered oak or black.

I’m a fan of the Mimi barstool for its clean lines and solid feel - the soft black leather seat and back balance perfectly on the lightly washed oak legs, giving it a modern-industrial edge without feeling cold. It slips straight into a variety of schemes, from urban lofts and contemporary kitchens to relaxed country kitchens where the dark leather adds just the right contrast.
For styling, group two or three around an island or high table rather than going for a matching set of four; the slight variation in grain on each leg brings an authentic, collected-over-time look. Pair with a natural stone or concrete countertop to echo the stool’s robust feel, and soften the edge with a simple wool seat pad in charcoal or deep green for added comfort and colour.
