Description

Design. With the incredible comfort of the Shabby, PLUS more room to put your feet up, this sectional chaise sofa by Timothy Oulton is made for moments of bliss. Dressed in soft leather upholstery with a Destroyed Black finish, it looks stunning in a wide range of interior schemes – from industrial loft apartments to sleek, sophisticated spaces. Stitch detailing gives shape to the sofa’s slouchy form, enhancing the plumpness of its generous foam and fibre filling. A luxurious spot to linger in, the chaise sofa can be combined with multiple sectional pieces to create a Shabby that suits you.

Our Stylist Says

This leather shabby section, or one-seater, from Timothy Oulton brings a blend of rugged character and sophistication that works particularly well in eclectic or industrial-inspired interiors. I love its distressed finish, which adds texture and a sense of history-making it less formal and more inviting. It pairs brilliantly with raw materials like exposed brick, concrete, or timber, but also offers versatility in modern schemes when styled with minimalist accessories. Practical styling tips include layering with textured cushions or throws to soften the look and pairing it with contrasting metals or vintage finds for an lived-in, curated feel. It’s ideal for creating a cosy nook or complementing a larger corner arrangement in a casual, stylish living space.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
