Description

Design. Inspired by the clandestine speakeasies of 1920s America, Timothy Oulton’s Hudson collection is designed to house everything you need for a great night in with friends. Understated design adds to its stealth, but its rich textured surface, cloaked in a dark patchwork of Fury leather panels, hints at something special within. The Hudson small bar cabinet fits in neatly everywhere from the corner of a CEO’s office to a creative studio or compact lounge. The doors open to reveal ample space for bottles and glasses, while the extra touch of a leather-clad tray allows you to serve your companions in style.

Our Stylist Says

The small bar cabinet from Timothy Oulton is a fantastic piece for adding a touch of industrial sophistication to both modern and vintage-inspired interiors. Its black Fury finish offers a sleek, understated look that pairs well with concrete, leather, or wood-themed settings. I love incorporating it into living rooms or open-plan kitchens where space is limited, as it provides functional storage while acting as a statement piece. For styling, consider placing it alongside leather armchairs or paired with metallic accents for a cohesive look. Inside, it’s perfect for organising bar essentials or glassware, and it can be easily styled on top with decorative trays, a mix of glassware, or plants to soften its utilitarian vibe. Overall, it’s a versatile, stylish addition that seamlessly blends practicality with contemporary design.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
