Description

Design. The Gyro Crystal collection is a combination of the Crystal Chandelier and Gyro collections. Pushing the boundaries of design one step further, the range places the traditional crystal chandelier in an unexpected setting by incorporating it into the armillary-inspired, spherical framework of the original Gyro. The industrial styling of the antique rust spheres are softened with the interior accents of crystal, reflecting an avant-garde yet refined sensibility.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little chandelier for its industrial yet refined vibe. Its antique rust finish gives it a vintage edge, making it a versatile piece that adds warmth and character to a range of spaces. It works particularly well in eclectic, vintage-inspired, or modern interiors where a touch of history or texture is needed. Practical styling tips include hanging it in a small dining area or over a centre table to create a focal point, or using it in a hallway to add interest without overwhelming the space. Pair with simple, understated bulbs to highlight the crystal elements and keep the overall look balanced. Its compact size makes it ideal for spaces where a statement piece is required without overpowering the room.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
