Description

With its sleek, slimline frame, the Tilda glass console table with copper base references '70s design and our continuing passion for hot metals. Made from tempered glass, the table's clear top allows light to flow freely around a room, while its sturdy copper-finish base adds warm, rosy tones to a scheme. The console is part of the Tilda range of occasional tables, designed in house and exclusive to Habitat.

Our Stylist Says

I love this console table for its sleek, modern look combined with a touch of luxe thanks to the copper base. It works particularly well in contemporary or minimalist interiors, providing a crisp, sophisticated accent in hallways, entryways, or even behind a sofa. Practical styling tips include layering with decorative trays, statement lighting, or small sculptures to highlight its transparency and metallic finish. Its clear glass top makes it versatile-perfect for displaying books or botanical arrangements without overwhelming the space, while the copper frame adds warmth and a stylish contrast to neutral palettes.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
