View More. Shyama Ruffell grew up in the Sussex countryside. Her childhood memories of submerging herself in long grasses and discovering a secret magical world of colourful wildflowers and insects are a significant influence on her paintings. Shyama’s images are jammed full of colour, texture and pattern reminiscent of ceramic and fabric designs (another source of great inspiration for her). Fresh flowers always fill her studio and provide fantastic reference material together with drawings and photographs. With their semi-abstract edge, her paintings become “A cocktail of William Morris and Rousseau in an English meadow, with a splash of Klimt”.
I really like this wall art because of its calming, natural vibe-it's a great way to bring a touch of the outdoors inside. The framed print of ferns works beautifully in a variety of interiors, from contemporary to rustic, adding a subtle texture and colour without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral or earthy tones and minimal accessories to let the print be the star. It works particularly well above sofas, sideboards, or in a bedroom to create a relaxed, nature-inspired look. To keep it fresh, balance the artwork with some real or faux greenery nearby, enhancing that botanical feel even further.
