Description
The Rio Cinema Dalston, was designed by the cult architect FE Bromige in 1937. Till today the facade remains relatively unchanged. I love the signage at the front- the font very typical of Art Deco. Dalston’s local community continues to be well represented by the Rio. London’s Turkish film festival began here. The bus stop outside the building was renamed as 'Rio Cinema' in 2012 after thousands of people successfully petitioned Transport for London. The building itself though beautiful is quite unassuming during the day, you might pass by without notice... but at night it will stop you in your tracks. The lighting is splendid. -Sold Unframed-
Our Stylist Says
I really like the Art Deco Rio Cinema print - it’s a bold, graphic piece that works well in contemporary or eclectic interiors. Its striking colours and stylised design make it a great focal point above a sofa or in a hallway, adding a touch of urban sophistication. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with minimalist frames or mixing it with other vintage or modern prints for an artsy wall arrangement. For practical tips, hang it at eye level for maximum impact and keep surrounding decor simple to let the print stand out. Its size is versatile enough to fit in both small spaces and larger living areas, making it a fun yet refined statement piece.
