I’m a big fan of the Texas chair in black for its clean lines and generous proportions - it immediately lends a sense of modern comfort without feeling overly bulky. The low metal plinth legs give it a floating effect, which works brilliantly in contemporary or industrial-inspired schemes, and the leather finish is hard-wearing enough for a busy household.
To style it, place a woollen cushion in a contrasting hue - mustard or deep teal work well against the black - and drape a textured throw over one arm for a lived-in look. Pair with a slim-lined side table in mixed metal and wood, and under-arm lighting like a tripod floor lamp to highlight its shape. It’s equally at home in an open-plan living space or a snug reading corner.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores".
