Description

Inspired by the British tea culture and Japanese woodwork that Aino and Alvar Aalto encountered on their travels, the Tea Trolley 901 was designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek in 1936.With a frame crafted from two form-bent solid birch lamella hoops, the trolley features two shelves that are available in black linoleum or an elegant white laminate. Supported by two MDF wheels, the trolley is easily manoeuvrable thanks to its solid birch handle. Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Finnish manufacturer, Artek, and embraced strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike. The perfect centrepiece for afternoon tea and cocktails alike, the Tea Trolley 901 would make a stylish addition to any kitchen, dining space or living room.

Our Stylist Says

I love this tea trolley for its clean, minimalist aesthetic and playful design, making it a versatile piece that can add character to both modern and more eclectic interiors. Its white finish ensures it stays neutral, fitting seamlessly into spaces such as open plan kitchens, living rooms, or even a stylish home bar setup. Practical tips include using it as a charming serving station or as a mobile drinks station during gatherings. It works well styled with glassware, small plants, or colourful accessories to bring a little personality. Its compact size and functional design make it a great addition to spaces where practicality meets style.
