Description

Transform your living room with the refined elegance of the Tate Rectangular 200x100 Dining Table a masterpiece that seats 4-6. This rectangular marvel arrives fully assembled, boasting a pristine MDF top adorned with a melamine finish, blending durability with a silky, easy-to-clean surface. The table's brushed stainless steel legs stand as pillars of modern grace, offering both strength and a touch of sophistication. Maintain its timeless beauty with a gentle wipe of a soft cloth and mild detergent, preserving its pristine finish. This table is not just a piece of furniture, but a harmonious blend of practicality and contemporary artistry, a true centrepiece for your home

Our Stylist Says

I’m fond of the Tate table for its clean lines and warm timber top set off by angular metal legs - it’s robust enough for family dinners yet sleek enough for a minimalist setting. It suits Scandi-inspired, industrial or contemporary schemes: think exposed brick or whitewashed walls with a neutral palette. For styling, mix different chair styles (a leather seat here, woven rattan there) to soften the geometry. Layer on natural-fibre placemats and a simple linen runner, then centre a low ceramic vase of greenery. Finish with a large wool rug underneath to cushion the metal base and tie the scheme together.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
