Description

In the heart of your living space, the curved TV stand stands as a testament to modern elegance and timeless functionality. With its sleek, rectangular MDF top, draped in a melamine coat for a pristine finish, it effortlessly combines durability and style. The natural oak veneer adds a warm touch, enhancing the organic charm of the design. Elevated by brushed stainless steel legs, it exudes a sophisticated grace. The soft-closing mechanism offers a serene, noiseless operation, ensuring a gentle touch for lasting beauty. Perfectly assembled, it embodies both form and function, a true centrepiece in any living room

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Tate TV stand for its soft, rounded edges and blend of warm oak grain with a stone-effect top - it feels fresh in both Scandi-style and modern urban interiors. The raised metal legs give it a light, airy look, so it won’t overwhelm a smaller living room. For styling, keep the surface uncluttered: a slim LED soundbar beneath your screen, a pair of art books and a simple ceramic vase echoing the top’s pale tone. Use the open shelf for a statement speaker or smart hub, and tuck cables and remotes behind the door. A small potted plant on one side adds just enough contrast without hiding the stand’s elegant curve.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
