Description
British designer Matthew Hilton conceptualises the tradition of layered rugs in a very contemporary way. The Oblique rug collection is based on the elegance of simplicity with sober graphics and powdery colours that bring us closer to the earth. The Oblique rug presents a juxtaposition of oblique figures in different positions, resulting in a play of monochrome volumes. Oblique is hand-woven with 100% Afghan wool. The design is determined by two clearly distinct elements through the combination of different techniques and textures. The different heights were obtained by mixing two techniques: hand-knotting and sumak. The two superimposed pieces with different pile heights provide movement. The colour palette is composed of warm, powdery tones: ivory, ochre, pink, grey. These very earthy colours harmonise naturally, creating bright, fresh, contemporary spaces. The Oblique collection includes four rugs with four different designs. Elegant and subtle, they fit easily into any space, thanks to their minimalist design.
