Description
Geometry and subtlety of movement by Ronan Bouroullec… The Doblecara rug features subtle, intermittent linear strokes, ending in a blurred point, creating a sensation of movement in the viewer's eye. rug reversible. Side “A” shows the straight-lined design in its maximum expression, while side “B” is more subtle and delicate. The choice of technique was decisive in the development of Doblecara. For the first time, the ancestral kilim technique has been combined with hand-knotting to create the lines, giving the rug great strength and rhythm. Each rug is hand-made from hand-spun Afghan wool. Its rustic appearance and the irregularities inherent in this fibre combine to create a unique rug that demonstrates the beauty and authenticity of exceptional craftsmanship. Doblecara's linear geometry comes to life in four rugs with combined positive and negative colours: black-beige, beige-black, beige-red, beige-beige. nanimarquina combats child labour and is committed to improving the standard of living and education of people working in the rug manufacturing sector in India, Pakistan and Nepal. All nanimarquina rugs carry the Care & Fair logo, proving that the rugs have not been woven by children. 1% of sales is donated to finance the Care & Fair association's schools, training and health programmes, and hospitals.
