Description

Design. As luxurious as it is practical, the Talula Dining Table in shiny white marble has an urban sophistication that brings together rustic ebony finished oak, a black iron base and a sleek stone top. With suave yet elegant style that will instantly update any décor, the Talula is perfect for adding decadent surface space to dining rooms and large kitchens. An accommodating round shape and a practical size that sits well in a range of spaces, the Talula provides a sophisticated foundation for social events, offering plenty of room for family and friends to dine in luxury. Pair with wood, leather or even chic velvet to set the tone of your dining area.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Talula table for its clean, round marble top and sleek tulip base - it instantly lifts a dining area without feeling heavy. Its pared-back silhouette works beautifully in modern, Scandi or mid-century-inspired interiors, and the neutral white and black palette means you can introduce bolder colours through soft furnishings or artwork. For styling, balance the table’s curves with slender dining chairs in wood or metal, and add a simple linen runner to protect the surface. A cluster of brass candleholders or a low ceramic vase of greenery keeps the look fresh and practical - just be sure to use felt pads under any decorative items to avoid scratches.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
